About the Role
The Marine Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and performance of all onboard mechanical and marine systems. This role ensures optimal operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with international maritime safety and classification standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain main and auxiliary marine machinery.
- Monitor performance of engines, generators, and power systems.
- Execute planned maintenance system (PMS) schedules.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults efficiently.
- Oversee fuel, cooling, lubrication, and compressed air systems.
- Ensure readiness of safety and emergency equipment.
- Comply with international regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, Class).
- Prepare technical reports on system performance and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- Certificate of Competency (COC) relevant to position level.
- 2–5 years of relevant maritime experience.
- Strong knowledge of marine engines and control systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in marine environments.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Proficiency in technical English.
