Mariene mechanic

Job Objective :

Maintain the efficiency of the ship’s engines and mechanical systems by carrying out regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and fault repairs, ensuring safe operation and continuity of work in accordance with approved technical and safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Inspect marine engines and their mechanical components on a regular basis.

• Carry out preventive and routine maintenance on marine equipment and systems.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic faults.

• Dismantle, repair, and replace damaged parts when needed.

• Monitor oil, coolant, and lubrication levels.

• Use measuring and inspection tools to ensure proper performance.

• Coordinate with the operations and engineering team during maintenance work.

• Adhere to occupational safety and maritime safety procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Practical experience in the maintenance and repair of marine engines or equipment.

• Good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.

• Ability to use inspection and measuring tools.

• Good physical fitness and the ability to work in a marine environment.

• A technical certificate or specialized training in marine mechanics is preferred.
