Job Objective

Prepare meals for the crew onboard the ship in accordance with hygiene and quality standards, and ensure that suitable food is available on time to meet the needs of crew members during sea voyages.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals for the crew according to the approved meal schedule.

• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking utensils, and food storage areas.

• Inspect food items and ensure their quality and suitability before use.

• Store food properly and safely.

• Prepare meals according to the number of crew members and their needs.

• Comply with health, hygiene, and food safety standards onboard the ship.

• Monitor food consumption and report supply needs to the relevant department.

• Coordinate with the ship captain or administrative officer regarding meals and food requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Practical experience in cooking, preferably in restaurants, ships, or large facilities.

• Good knowledge of food preparation and storage basics.

• Ability to work in a changing marine environment.

• Commitment to personal hygiene and workplace cleanliness.

• Ability to work under pressure and for long hours.

• A culinary certificate or accredited training course is preferred.
